Life In Shadows was featured this week on Song From Ireland on Rijnwoude Radio from the Netherlands. The album was also played on Chemins De Terre on Radio Rennes from Brittany, France. These are two great radio shows supporting traditional music.

On Sunday I'm playing at the World Music Festival in the Lantern Centre, Synge Street, Dublin. Featuring musicians from Slovakia, Brazil, China, France and more. 2pm - 9pm. Free Admission. This is a fundraising event for the centre which provides intercultural support to communities in Dublin. For more info check their website.

On Monday night, August 1st, I'll be playing a set at the Kilmainham Arts Club, Dublin. The arts club is a once monthly free event and includes presentations of photography, film, dance, song and music. It takes place at The Patriot, Kilmainham. 9pm.
The 'Life In Shadows' album is now available from Claddagh Records in their shops in Temple Bar and Middle Abbey Street, Dublin and in shops nationwide from tomorrow. It's also available online from www.claddaghrecords.com

I will be launching my new album in Bewleys Cafe Theatre, Grafton St, Dublin on Saturday May 21st. The night also features a performance from the Joan Shields & Robson Rocha duo. The new album is finished and is going for pressing this week. There are 10 tracks - 8 were recorded by John Flynn at JMR Studios and mixed by Marc Carolan at Suite Studios. The other 2 tracks were recorded and mixed at D1. The album was mastered by Fergal Davis. The launch will be May 21st and the album will be available to buy directly from this site.

Next Sunday, August 15th, I'll be playing at the Lantern Centre, Synge Street, Dublin as part of a world music festival. The lineup includes Joan Shields Latin Jazz Trio,
Polish Folk Band, Slovakian Folk Ensemble amongst others. This is a fund raising event for the centre which provides intercultural support to communities in Dublin.
The festival runs from 2.30pm to 7.30pm and I'll be playing at 4pm. There is no admission charge but the suggested donation is €5. Click here for directions to the venue.
Work is well underway on the recording of my debut album. The sessions so far have been taking place in JMR Studios. This is a purpose built studio in Shankill, Dublin with a high-end finish and an amazing live room. It's been great working with the studio owner John Flynn who has been engineering the sessions. Some of the recording has also been taking place at the D1 studio. The plan is to have all the sessions completed by the end of the year and for the album release to be in Spring 2011.

I've been interviewed for a radio series on musicians performing in Irish. The program will be broadcast nationwide in Ireland starting tomorrow, Tuesday June 8th, on Dublin's Near90 FM at 5.30pm.
I'm playing tonight at the Mixed Bag Collective, Kingston, Dún Laoghaire. There are four acts performing and the night is hosted by Sarah Franklyn. 8.30pm.

I recently received a new guitar which has been built for me by Irish luthier Frank Tate. I've been playing this guitar at recent gigs and will be recording an album with it in 2010. Check out some more info and photos of the guitar here.
